Sports bar ‘The Bullpen’ will reopen at 508 Washington Blvd. in Ridgely’s Delight for the Orioles’ home opener on March 31st. The Bullpen was purchased in 2023 by Tony Arce and will be run by his son Danny Arce.
The Arces were hoping to reopen the bar in time for the 2024 Orioles season, but ended up needing to do an extensive renovation of the building. “When my father purchased it, it was held together by duct tape and bubble gum,” Danny Arce told SouthBMore.com.
The area surrounding The Bullpen is typically very busy on Orioles home games. The Bullpen sits across the street from Oriole Park at Camden Yards and is adjacent to Pickles Pub and Section 771.
“It’s a great location and my dad loves baseball,” said Danny Arce.
Tony Arce started out as a dishwasher and worked his way up to owning several Baltimore bars over the years. He now invests in commercial buildings.
Danny Arce, who was born and raised in Baltimore, grew up around the bar business and has bartended at many restaurants in the city. He is also opening El Bar in Pigtown this week.
The Bullpen will have two levels of seating inside, as well as outdoor tables. Much like the other bars on the block, The Bullpen will have an outdoor bar set up before, during, and after Orioles games.
Danny Arce said the menu will focus on wings, burgers, and hot dogs.
“We’ll have TVs, great speakers, and popular bartenders,” he added.
