Another new investment is coming to the Camden Yards Sports Complex as the pedestrian spine, also known as Ravens Walk, is undergoing an approximately $5.1-million renovation. Ravens Walk is a walkway that connects Oriole Park at Camden Yards to M&T Bank Stadium through the the stadium parking lots B and C.
Rachelina Bonacci, public information officer for Maryland Stadium Authority (MSA), the owner of the complex, told SouthBMore.com in an email that the 975 ft. Ravens Walk is being renovated to include enhanced security features, new hardscaping, a new impervious surface, new landscaping, and storm water improvements. The Gilbane Building Company was awarded the contract, and renovations are expected to be completed by August of this year.
The Ravens are currently wrapping up a $120-million renovation of M&T Bank Stadium in partnership with MSA. The project includes six new video boards, five new suites, new escalators and elevators, a new sound system, new LED ribbon boards, club level enhancements, and expanded kitchen facilities. Gilbane is also the contractor on that project.
Construction is also underway on a new $7.2-million terminal at Camden Station at the Camden Yards Sports Complex. The station is a joint project of the Maryland Department of Transportation’s Mass Transit Administration, which operates the MARC train, and the MSA. Camden Station is the first stop on the MARC Camden Line. It is also is an MTA Light Rail stop.
