Ashkenazy Acquisition Corporation took over Harborplace at the Inner Harbor in 2013 and began renovations to the Light Street and Pratt Street Pavilions last year. Changes are now starting to take shape at the shopping and dining attraction.
While improvements continue on the facades, the already-completed sections are highlighted by new wood planks along with black steel accents. Existing concrete beams and columns are still featured in the design.
Pratt Street Pavilion
The Pratt Street Pavilion has reversed its mall-style interior and now has businesses that span the entire width of the pavilion with entrances facing Pratt St. and the Inner Harbor. New businesses that have recently opened in these spaces include Banana Republic and Build-A-Bear.
IT’SUGAR is also in one of these new retail spaces. The candy business was originally located in the Pratt Street Pavilion, temporarily moved to the Light Street Pavilion, and has now returned to the Pratt Street side.
There are also currently empty first-floor spaces at the Pratt Street Pavilion.
Much of the second floor of the Pratt Street Pavilion will be the home of the Market at Harborplace. This future food market is currently under construction and will be accessed from a first-floor lobby and a skywalk that crosses Pratt St.
Five Guys recently closed on the second floor of this pavilion while Annapolis-based restaurant Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls has been announced as a future food tenant for this pavilion.
Cheesecake Factory and Uno Pizzeria & Grill have remained open on the first and second floors on the eastern end of the Pratt Street Pavilion, and M&S Grill and Tir Na Nog Irish Bar & Brill have remained open on the first and second floors on the western end of the pavilion.
Several other small stores remain open at the Pratt Street Pavilion.
Light Street Pavilion
Hooters recently completed a move from the second floor of the Light Street Pavilion to a 6,300 sq. ft., first-floor space, featuring an outdoor patio, facing Light St. The restaurant has an entrance on Light St. along with an interior entrance facing the mall-style layout of the building. Hooters’ former 7,342 sq. ft. space is currently vacant.
Noodles & Co. closed its restaurant in this pavilion on June 26th, according to Baltimore Business Journal. The company has closed more than 50 stores around the country.
Neighborhoods, which sells Baltimore- and Maryland-themed merchandise, recently opened in part of the former Urban Outfitters, which closed on January 7th. Neighborhoods occupies the first-floor of Urban Outfitters former two-story space.
Many businesses remain open in the Light Street Pavilion including H&M, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Philly Pretzel Factory, and Ripley’s Believe It or Not. There are also several vacancies at this pavilion.
